As Voltron's legend grew, peace settled across the galaxy. On planet Earth, a galaxy alliance was formed. Together with the good planets of the solar system, they maintained peace throughout the universe. Until a new, horrible menace threatened the galaxy.
Voltron was needed once more.
This is the story of the super force of space explorers, specially trained, and sent by the alliance to bring back Voltron: Defender of the Universe."
Arus was a peaceful planet, but their scientists created defense systems in the event of an attack. Their crowning achievement was the legendary Voltron, an indestructable robot that was the most powerful defender of justice in the galaxy.
As the legend goes, Zarkon had tried a number of times to defeat Voltron, and each time was a dismal failure. So he sent up his witch Haggar, who disguised herself as a goddess and cried for Voltron's help. When Voltron came close to help her, Haggar sent out a massive charge of energy into Voltron's body - a curse - in an attempt to destroy him. Even this could not destroy the mighty Voltron, but it did split him apart. Voltron split into five parts, each part a robot lion, and fell to the surface of Arus in hibernation.
With Voltron gone, Zarkon had free reign over the galaxy, and threatened the Galaxy Alliance on Earth. The only hope for peace remained with Voltron...
Eventually, as you might have guessed, the space explorers, led by Keith, found Voltron, and managed to assemble him. Although each of the lions itself was strong, each had only one fifth the strength of Voltron. So when you hear Keith say...
